Bank-school collaboration for innovation and integration and a better future



On Nov. 30, 2019, Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (hereinafter referred to as “ACEM, SJTU”) and Bank of China Shanghai Branch (hereinafter referred to as “BOC Shanghai”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Chen Fangruo, Dean of ACEM, and Zhao Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of BOC Shanghai, signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties in the presence of Jiang Sixian and Gu Feng, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SJTU, Sun Yu, Vice President of BOC, and Yang Jun, Senior Account Manager of BOC Shanghai.

The long-standing cooperation between SJTU and BOC has gone through 15 years, during which the two parties have worked together to establish comprehensive and in-depth cooperation and exploration in many fields such as smart campuses, production and education integration, talent training, financial services for teachers and students, and venture capital. In 2012, 2015 and 2018, the two parties signed the “top-to-top” strategic cooperation agreement for three consecutive times, continuously deepening the cooperation relationship and expanding the cooperation spheres. SJTU appreciates BOC’s recognition of the bank-school relationship and its high sense of social responsibility, and the two parties have established a high degree of mutual trust in long-term cooperation and look forward to further deepening the strategic cooperation based on in-deep and comprehensive cooperation in the future.

This time, ACEM and BOC Shanghai will rely on their respective resources, give play to their respective advantages, and establish a closer collaborative relationship to conduct in-depth cooperation in joint research in the financial industry, mutual training of high-end financial talents and cooperation in brand activities. ACEM will also irregularly invite senior executives of BOC to give keynote speeches to and share experience with ACEM alumni and students, and will prepare industry research reports and white papers based on the innovation and cooperation results derived from joint research, with a view to enhancing the influence of the two parties in the academic circle and the industry.

After the signing ceremony, Jiang Sixian, Secretary of the Party Committee of SJTU, and Sun Yu, Vice President of BOC, unveiled the BOC Intelligent Valley – Training Base for Production and Education Integration on behalf of the two parties. Gu Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SJTU, Chen Fangruo, Dean of ACEM, Zhao Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of BOC Shanghai, and Yang Jun, Senior Account Manager of BOC Shanghai, attended the unveiling ceremony and witnessed the unveiling process.

Sun Yu, Vice President of BOC, was also invited to attend the “Antai Symphony” Summit Forum and the launching ceremony of the ACEM Industry Community Class with other leaders and give the keynote speech entitled “The Impact of FinTech Development on the Financial Industry - Global Practice of BOC”. The forum was hosted by ACEM and Institute of Industry Research of SJTU, and was jointly organized by the MBA, EMBA, Executive Education and DBA programs of ACEM. The forum focused on the three major themes of FinTech, innovation and entrepreneurship, and automotive ecology to feel the true temperature of the Chinese economy and predict and ride the trend of 2020. The Industry Community Class aims to provide ACEM and its alumni with a path for deep evolution of the supply and demand pattern in a cross-school, cross-program, cross-disciplinary and cross-industry-university-research way, and through the same frequency dialogue between the industry and alumni, so as to share and build a win-win ecology and stage. The forum also invited Eric Jing, Chairman and CEO of Ant Financial, Lin Ou, Chairman of Jiangnan Shipyard Group, Wu Jiong, founder of Fenghe Group and angel investor of Alibaba, Yin Shiming, Vice President of Baidu, Yao Jie, Deputy Secretary of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Mao Liming, General Manager of Infiniti China, and many other well-known industry experts and business leaders to deliver wonderful speeches.
