Now it’s time to see where all 32 teams rank. For reference purposes Womens Jason Peters Jersey , here is a link to last week’s NFL Power Rankings.BLG’S WEEK 10 NFL POWER RANKINGS1 - New England Patriots (Last Week: 2) - Well, here we are. It’s Week 10 and the Pats are finally back on top. Six straight wins for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.2 - Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 3) - KC is rolling inferior opponents like clockwork. Ho hum. 3 - New Orleans Saints (LW: 4) - Big statement win from the Saints in the Superdome. They planted the flag as the team to beat in the NFC. And maybe even the entire league.4 - Los Angeles Rams (LW: 1) - If Ty Montgomery doesn’t fumble last week, the Rams could very well be riding a two-game losing streak. Don’t get me wrong, this team is very good. But there are some vulnerabilities in the armor. 5 - Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 6) - The Steelers are hitting their stride. Picking up a big win over Baltimore solidifies their lead in the AFC North. And now Le’Veon Bell might be back on the way? It’s not like they need him, though, since James Conner has been great.6 - Carolina Panthers (LW: 7) - The Panthers are red hot right now. It’ll be interesting to see how seriously they can push New Orleans. 7 - Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 10) - The Chargers are for real. Winning in Seattle like they did is no easy feat. Philip Rivers deserves to be in the MVP conversation. 8 - Chicago Bears (LW: 7) - Playing Buffalo is a free win at this point.9 - Green Bay Packers (LW: 5) - Tough to have back-to-back games against LA and New England. Even the mighty Aaron Rodgers ultimately couldn’t lead his team to victory. They’re still dangerous with him under center, though.10 - Minnesota Vikings (LW: 13) - Kirk Cousins falters against good teams but he’s capable of beating bad ones, as seen in Week 9. 11 - Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 15) - Perfect bye week for the reigning Super Bowl champions. With Washington and Dallas losing, the Eagles are very much alive in the NFC East. Oh, and the Eagles also have a shiny new weapon in the form of Golden Tate. This team could be ready to make a strong second half push. 12 - Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 14) - The Bengals return from their bye to host New Orleans. Tough test for the Stripes. 13 - Atlanta Falcons (LW: 16) - The Falcons have won three games in a row. Their offense looks back on track after dropping 38 on Washington. 14 - Baltimore Ravens (LW: 8) - Three losses in a row has the Ravens falling out of the picture in the AFC North. Baltimore ranks third in the division behind Pittsburgh and Cincy. 15 - Seattle Seahawks (LW: 12) - The vintage Seahawks don’t lose at home like this team did on Sunday. Clearly these are not your vintage Seahawks. 16 - Houston Texans (LW: 17) - Still not a big believer in this Texans team that’s rattled off six straight. Houston easily could’ve lost a number of the games during this winning streak.17 - Tennessee Titans (LW: 23) - Big road win for the Titans in Dallas. Did you know that Mike Vrabel’s team has allowed the fewest points this season? Now you do. Just 141 total through eight games (17.6 average). 18 - Washington Redskins (LW: 11) - Washington takes a big hit after getting blown out on Sunday. Making matters worse for them is they just lost both of their starting guards and their deep threat receiver for the season. 19 - Miami Dolphins (LW: 22) - The Dolphins are 21-21 since the Adam Gase era begin in 2016. Mediocre. 20 - Indianapolis Colts (LW: 21) - Frank Reich’s team has a chance to go on a three game winning streak with the Jags coming to town. 21 - Dallas Cowboys (LW: 18) - Despite entering Monday Night Football as 5.5-point home favorites, Dallas dropped to 3-5 with a loss to Tennessee. Lol Cowboys.22 - Detroit Lions (LW: 19) - SOL — Same old Lions. Matthew Stafford arguably had the worst outing of his career in Detroit’s first game since Golden Tate was traded away to Philly. Perhaps not just a coincidence? 23 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 20) - Ryan Fitzpatrick returned to the starting lineup but the Bucs still lost. Their defense is still allowing a league-worst 34.4 points per game.24 - Cleveland Browns (LW: 24) - Different coach, same Browns. Still not good. 25 - New York Jets (LW: 25) - Sam Darnold is really struggling. There’s talk that it might be time to give the 21-year-old rookie a break. 26 - Denver Broncos (LW: 26) - The Broncos would’ve received a slight bump if their last second field goal attempt went in.
Alas Youth Alshon Jeffery Jersey , it did not. 27 - Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 27) - Looking to break a four game losing streak coming out of the bye. They’ll have to wind on the road in Indy to do so.28 - Arizona Cardinals (LW: 28) - The Cards admitted they were stupid for signing Sam Bradford by cutting him during their bye week.29 - San Francisco 49ers (LW: 30) - Is Nick Mullens going to be a one-game wonder or can this guy actually play a little?30 - New York Giants (LW: 31) - Moved the Giants up on their bye week since they merely have the fifth worst point differential in the league. I think even they could beat Buffalo and Oakland. 31 - Buffalo Bills (LW: 29) - Buffalo’s -145 point differential ranks dead last in the league. The next closest team is 34 points ahead of them. Third to last is 56 points ahead of them. This team is a disaster. 32 - Oakland Raiders (LW: 32) - The Raiders got blown out by an undrafted rookie free agent quarterback making his first NFL start, 34-3. The tank rages on.Play-action is giving the Eagles’ defense fits With all the talk about lapses in coverage and lack of identity in the secondary, the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have a sneaky problem that has persisted since the Super Bowl. The play-action pass.In the Super Bowl, New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady torched the Eagles’ defense and while the leaks were everywhere, they were especially prevalent when play-action was used. On 17 dropbacks, Brady went 12/17 for 248 yards and 1 touchdown for a 132.6 QB Rating. It wasn’t an aberration; if anything, it was a foretelling of things to come.Play-action rates saw a gigantic spike in 2017, reaching levels only touched during the read-option era and beyond. The Eagles were largely spared from this trend, perhaps by sheer luck. They were only exposed to play-action on a fifth of dropbacks, the 26th lowest frequency. Unfortunately, in 2018, they haven’t been so lucky. They’ve faced play-action 25.8% of the time this year Womens Brandon Brooks Jersey , which compared to last year would’ve ranked 4th among defenses.Have opposing coordinators taken the Patriots’ blueprint and used it to crack Jim Schwartz’s code? The stats would suggest it’s a possibility. Over the past two weeks opposing offense have completed 82% of their passes off play-action at an alarming clip of 11.13 yards per attempt. On the year they’re conceding a 113.6 QB Rating to those concepts. We were told for decades that a successful running game set up those fakes for success. If that’s the case, why is the 2nd ranked run defense having fits against it? The first answer to that is because that idea that we were fed has never been proven. It doesn’t mean there isn’t any truth to it; absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, but it does show that the correlation between the two, if it exists, is wildly exaggerated. Here’s why I think play-action works so well against this Eagles’ defense:Displaces an aggressive, fast-to-flow defense.Condensed splits exploit large swathes of space against zone coverage.Additional protection.Altered path to the quarterback. The Eagles front four is a terror and the secondary is struggling to cover for more than two seconds. With that in mind, what’s the best way to avoid a buzzsaw pass rush and buy enough time to challenge the deep zones? Move the pocket, leave in six or seven men, and do not let the front four pin their ears back and attack in a traditional manner. This is a three-man route combination with seven-man protection. There are three Eagles on the bottom of the screen are covering grass. Corey Graham is playing single-high/robber and is influenced by the trajectory of Marcus Mariota’s drop to the point where he joins the grass people as a fourth. The extra protection allows Corey Davis, who is working from a nasty split, time to attack Jalen Mills’ cushion and sit in the sweet spot between the flat zone and deep zone for an easy completion.A quick word on what tight formations like this do to a defense. They force zone coverageas a defender playing man against these sets can be run off and can be slow to his read. In zone, defenders are free to read and react more freely against the run. Again Youth Nate Gerry Jersey , fast-to-flow defense, right? But the Minnesota Vikings are taking that freedom and first step read and using it against the Eagles. Nigel Bradham is influenced by the line flowing to the right and takes three full steps before he realizes he’s far away from home. It doesn’t matter that Michael Bennett is unblocked or that Fletcher Cox defeats his block quickly. All Kirk Cousins’ needs is just enough time to allow Stefon Diggs to sneak underneath the linebackers and across the field.Whether it’s DeSean Jackson flying past the Eagles’ defense while seven men buy Ryan Fitzpatrick enough time, or simple crossing patterns, the defense hasn’t held up against these concepts. It takes what they do well and turns it on it’s head. It exposes what they do poorly and attacks it time and time again. Here’s the problem that the Eagles are up against this Thursday against the New York Giants. Last week Eli Manning utilized play-action on 32% of his dropbacks. They also love getting Odell Beckham Jr. in condensed splits which provides him with a full route tree and plenty of open space. For more on that, this piece on the Giants’ offense by Mark Schofield should provide plenty of context, but here’s a clip of what we have to look forward to anyway. On the plus side, as much as the Giants would love to use play-action to push the ball downfield, Manning has an abysmal 23.5% adjusted accuracy when throwing over 20 yards in the air and he’s been unable to consistently produce after run-fakes.Still, Schwartz will be tasked with coming up with a game-plan that contains not only Saquon Barkley, but Odell Beckham Jr. and the play-action pass ... and we haven’t even talked about double moves yet.
