Habring² and Monochrome have teamed up again, and this time it's for a good cause. A unique, split-seconds Habring² Doppel 38 "Monochrome" with a salmon dial is set to be auctioned at Phillips Geneva Watch Auction: XVII on May 13-14, with all the proceeds going to the charity Save The Children.
The collab follows on the duo's 2021 Montre de Souscription 1, a limited-edition Chrono-Felix that quickly sold out all 33 pieces. That watch, created to celebrate Dutch site Monochrome's 15th anniversary, had a beautiful salmon sector switch. Then, last year, Habring released their Doppel 38, a version of their Doppel Chronograph in a shrunk-down 37. 5mm case. With that, the idea for a unique piece was formed. Monochrome and Habring² still had a spare dial of their Souscription view, and they realized they could pair it with the Doppel 32. Even better, they decided to auction off the unique Doppel 38 for charity. The actual Habring² Doppel 38 "Monochrome" has a few other unique features, too: the brushed steel case as well as stepped bezel set it apart from the standard Doppel 35. The sector salmon call is paired with blued metal hands. Habring's A11R movement can be seen through the sapphire caseback.
It's fun to see friends in the enjoy industry come together to make a good-looking watch, and even better when it's all for a good cause. With that, bid away - it's almost all for charity.
The unique piece is lot 30 of the upcoming Phillips Geneva auction and has an estimate of CHF 10, 000 to 20, 000, and no reserve. All proceeds of the sale will go to Save The Children, the non-governmental organization that's been in operation since 1919 with the goal of helping to improve the lives of children worldwide.
